Our go to vacation
We feel privileged to have found a piece of paradise that we can call home away from home. The Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne is an elevated Miami tennis and beach resort experience that checks all the tennis lovers boxes. It made sense to revisit one of our favorite resorts after over a year of staying at home. Some of the many reasons we love the Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne, Florida are: the Cliff Drysdale Tennis Program, intimate beach and spa, great restaurants, wonderful staff, the club lounge experience and our favorite Latin band, Grupo Nostalgia.
Tennis
The fabulous Cliff Drysdale Tennis Program at the Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne is run by Max Mangones. New to the program is the growing sport of Padel Tennis. There are 10 hart tru, lighted tennis courts and 3 Padel tennis courts. We enjoy participating in the daily morning tennis clinics, semi-private lessons, or just playing tennis. The courts are always hopping; and now with Padel tennis, it is even more exciting. (travel tip: Advance registration is required (no longer drop-in) to sign up in advance for a spot, use the app Kourts).
Resort
Your stay at this resort will have two choices, island view or ocean view. Sunrise or sunset (tough choice). Sometimes we have the option to stay on the club level. It is wonderful to see familiar faces.. When we have stayed on club level at this resort, the staff did everything possible to make us feel comfortable. After tennis, we spent our day beach side or at the adult or family pool. On Friday or Saturday evening, after a day of tennis, beach or pool, spa and dinner (great restaurants on property, we love the beach side Cantina or the Lighthouse), be prepared to be wowed by the fabulous Grupo Nostalgia band, in the main lounge. You will be inspired to dance or learn how to salsa! A perfect way to end your evening.
Spa
The spa facilities are beautiful. The spacious ladies' and mens' spa lounges include separate a steam room, sauna and jacuzzi. The relaxation room allows you to put your feet up and enjoy the serenity before and/or after your spa appointment! I highly recommend the hot stone massage. It is especially healing after many days of tennis. At the end of my stay, I continued with my spa pampering with a manicure/pedicure at the Resort's beauty salon. It is especially wonderful to see familiar faces each and every time we visit. Some of the therapists have been here for over 17 years! Do not forget to make an appointment in advance, to enjoy one of the many services!
Returning to our home away from home
My idea of a great vacation is tennis, spa, relaxation and repeat. The Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne continues to exceed expectations. We are bias about this resort, because we absolutely love coming here. Even with new safety precautions, it was a wonderful, safe vacation. We hope you enjoy it too!
