About an hour or so north of New York City, off of the New York Turnpike in Saugerties, NY, you will find Total Tennis. Total Tennis is a year round tennis, platform tennis (paddle), and pickleball facility/tennis camp. It is not your posh resort; but a charming, racquets sports camp. The super friendly staff that run the resort have been there as long as I recall... they (Ed and Ellen) treat everyone like family!
We have been going to Total Tennis for over 15 years. We have visited with our tennis team, with groups of friends, as a couple, and as a single, looking for more tennis. A two day camp will have you arriving Friday evening and leaving Sunday afternoon. If you don't arrange your own group, you will be placed in a group with the same tennis Pro for your stay.
The first day has three sessions of tennis (for 4 hours), including a private lesson and the second day has three hours of tennis. The tennis Pros are top notch and will work with you to bring out the most in your game (tennis/paddle or pickleball).
The rooms are rustic, clean and comfortable. The resort prides itself with being green, as the resort's electricity is generated by solar power. In addition, vegetables are grown in their garden for each meal presentation.
Fun fact: The lodge has a sign Kaatsban, as you drive through the entrance. Kaatsban is Dutch for tennis court.
We recommend this rustic charming facility to brush up on your tennis game, or just to have racquet fun with your friends or family. Just go...you will have a great tennis, Pickleball or paddle experience! You will not be disappointed.
